How to Clean Your Bamboo Cutting Board

• Daily Cleaning: Rinse your bamboo cutting board under warm water and scrub it with a soapy sponge. Although bamboo has natural antiseptic properties, its important to sanitize it occasionally.
• Sanitizing: To disinfect, soak a cloth in a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Use the cloth to wipe down both sides of the board.
• Proper Drying: Always dry your cutting board in a vertical position to prevent water from seeping into the wood fibers, which can cause warping. Avoid soaking the board in water and be sure to wipe it dry immediately after rinsing.
• Conditioning: Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to the surface periodically to maintain the boards smoothness and durability.

What to Avoid:

• Dishwasher: Do not place your bamboo board in the dishwasher. The heat and water can cause it to warp or crack.
• Soaking: Avoid dunking or letting the board sit in water, as this can cause the wood to absorb moisture and warp.
• Bleach: Refrain from using bleach, as it can stain the bamboo.
• Flat Drying: Never lay a wet board flat to dry. Drying unevenly can lead to warping and mildew.
