Made of aged wood and silver-plated metal, the Peugeot Palace series is like jewelry for the dining table.

—DETAILS—

The French company Peugeot may be most commonly associated with cars, but they actually made spice mills first, far back in 1874. In the 146 years since, no other salt and pepper mills stay as sharp, resist corrosion as well, and last as long, which is why nobody in the culinary industry would hesitate to call them iconic. Salt, unlike pepper, can corrode metal if it absorbs too much moisture. Thats why most salt mill blades are made from less durable ceramic. Not Peugeots, which are made from rust-resistant 18/10 stainless steel so it lasts just as long as the companys famous pepper grinders. Adjusting the grind is simple with a turn of the knob on top of the millthe tighter the knob, the finer the grind. The Palace Salt Mill, ideal for collectors, features noble aged wood and silver plating of a standard so high it is recognised by French law as first grade. A matching pepper mill is available for purchase separately.

Note: Salt mills are intended to grindlarge crystalsof salt; small particles of salt or sea salt flakes, like Maldon or Cornish, will get stuck in the mechanism.

—BENEFITS—

‘Any fine dining restaurant worth its salt has a Peugeot mill. Expertly crafted inside and out, these grinders seem to wake up pepper and salt just before it reaches your plate.’
